There are 225 D2 Women Soccer teams in the U.S. and 10 available athletic scholarships to be given away. The level skill is sometimes better than division 1 teams but in general is a good competivtive enviornment. 1.9% of women althetes end up playing in NCAA D2 Women's College Soccer.
Going to a game. The pace of college soccer in general is much faster compared to club or high school soccer. At a game you can see how much skill, speed, and imense strength is used throughout the game by the players as well as how the coaches treat their players.
On average a D2 althete exercises about 33 hours a week and spends 35 hours on academics. A larger percentage than D1 have jobs but it is still small. D2 athletes still have time to participate in extra curricular activites even with the amount of travel demanded.
Traveling for soccer and academics are split around 50:50 in D2. Most D2 colleges are very affordable but financial aid is possible at any school.
